One of The Best Museums in Chicago

Founded in 1930, devoted to the pursuit of astrophysics and astronomy, the Adler Planetarium is a public museum situated in the city of Chicago Illinois at the shore of Lake Michigan.

Forming one spoke of Chicago’s Museum Wheel, the Adler Planetarium—combined with the The Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium—comprise the triad form a triangular wheel.

The first planetarium in USA, the mission of Adler is to achieve understanding of the universe and to inspire exploration.

For nearly a century, connecting people to the Universe and to one another, the Adler’s priority has always been on meaningful bonds.

Every year, this museum draws nearly one million visitors. It touches even more millions via online citizen science, outreach projects, neighborhood sky-watching events, and STEM programs for youth.

Young people, old people, with varying backgrounds and abilities can explore their Universe—with Adler’s support—and return to their homes able to think about problems and challenges they face.

The view of the Chicago skyline outside is amazing. That alone is worth the price of admission. Not only is the museum amazing, the cafe in the atrium serves delicious food at great prices with a beautiful city view. Once outside, this is the best place to take photographs of the Chicago skyline!

On a brusque day in Chicago, there won’t be much you can comfortably do outside. So go to the Adler and have a great time. Be sure to see the Planet Number 9 show. That is fantastic. Getting to see the Gemini capsule is something that stays with you for the rest of your life.

Once you’re finished touring the Adler Planetarium, as the sun is setting, you may want to visit some of Chicago’s bars and nightclubs, because Chicago has some of the best nightlife.
